I have a 2008 LR2. I plugged my phone charger in the cigar lighter and it blew the fuse. I checked my fuses under the engine hood, but the cigar lighter fuse was fine. Is there another fuse located within the cigar lighter? And if so, how do I lift it up to replace?

Thank you

I just checked the manual and it only shows the fuse under the hood for the cigar lighter. Are you sure the fuse for the cigar lighter blew? The reason I ask I have seen some phone chargers have fuses in them as well. Try another plug in item to make sure your cigar lighter doesn't work. If it doesn't work still do the normal Rover trouble shooting check all fuses (under hood, in cabin and trunk area fuses).

Hi Joey,

Yes, I tried another plug in and the cigar lighter still does not work.

Also, when the lighter blew, I noticed that the iPhone charger plug-in had an exposed wire and their was a faint smell of burned wire. Would this still be a fuse issue or something else?

I will check and replace the under hood fuse. And check cabin fuses. I've never opened the trunk area fuses, because it's so hard to open, and I didn't want to break anything.

Sounds like the fuse may have held but the wires going to the cigar lighter may not have... you may need to get into the area and check for burnt wires.

Joey, I found the issue. It was the fuse in the trunk. I replaced it and the cigarette lighter works.

glad you found the issue... sadly Rover and Jaguar both have weird setups for fuses
